![]() ![]() Secret 1 – Press the tofu: Pressing your tofu before cooking with it removes moisture (which would otherwise make for soggy, not-at-all-crispy tofu). There are actually two secrets to making crispy tofu without cornstarch or bread crumbs. I love this tofu press (though you could also use a heavy pan). A tofu press: You’ll want to press water out of your tofu before cooking it.Feel free to go crazy with it and at your own blend of spices or herbs! Garlic: I use this for quick and simple flavor in the marinade.I wouldn’t recomend cutting out the oil completely, but you could use sprayable oil if you’re looking to reduce fat. Oil: We’ll use a blend of sesame/olive oil to add flavor and enhance the crispiness.Soy sauce: Soy (or tamari for gluten-free) adds a rich and salty flavor that levels up your tofu.Tofu: Use extra-firm tofu, which has more water squeezed out of it than the soft or silken varieties.Planting a Magic Bean in the Deku Palace, however, is necessary to progress through the game.There are two main components to this crispy tofu: the tofu (duh), and the marinade. Growing Magic Beans usually takes Link to areas with a Piece of Heart. Soft soil appears in various locations in Termina. The beans will fully grow when they are watered with Spring Water or the rain from the Song of Storms. In Majora's Mask 3D, the Trading Post sells Magic Beans for 100 Rupees each. The Deku-friendly Business Scrub (who is initially located in the Southern Swamp next to the Swamp Tourist Center, but will move to South Clock Town if Link gives him the Town Title Deed) sells Magic Beans exclusively to Deku Scrubs for 10 Rupees each. After teaching how to use them, he will sell Magic Beans for 10 Rupees each. Upon teaching Link to use Magic Beans, he will give Link one as a free sample. The Bean Seller is located inside a hole at the end of the east side of the Deku Palace garden (in Majora's Mask 3D, this hole has a second entrance, from the outside of the palace on the east side). Link cannot purchase Magic Beans until he has learned how to use them from the Bean Seller. In Majora's Mask, Link can hold a maximum of 20 Magic Beans. Some of these areas, however, can be accessed by summoning Pierre using the " Scarecrow's Song." After seven years, the bean will grow into a leaf that grants Link access to certain areas otherwise impossible to reach. Soft soil only appears during the child era, so Link can only plant a Magic Bean as a child. The price of the beans starts at 10 Rupees and increases by 10 each time Link buys one. In Ocarina of Time, Magic Beans can be purchased from the Bean Seller sitting near the Zora's River.
